CPPD
CPPD (Continual Professional Personal Development) is defined by The Health Professions Council as “a range of learning activities through which health professionals maintain and develop throughout their career to ensure that they retain their capacity to practice safely, effectively and legally within their evolving scope of practice".
CPPD enables you to keep up to date with the latest treatments, products, techniques, equipment and business developments and is the mark of a true professional. If you are an assessor or verifier with a governing body such VTCT or are a member of FHT (The Federation of Holistic Therapists) CPPD is compulsory. As the Therapy industry becomes regulated all therapists will be required to undertake CPPD training every year. This training will be monitored on a point scoring system and will normally be calculated on an annual basis.
Members of FHT are required to complete a minimum of 10 CPPD points a year. If you are not a member of FHT then your own professional organisation will give you guidance on the requirements. We offer a wide range of CPPD Programs and Online CPPD Programs to enable you to comply with the requirements of your professional association with regards CPPD.
The FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) as already mentioned has the following point-scoring system:
Work Based Learning may be: Portfolio evidence Points
Case Studies Written 5 each
Reflective practice Written 5 each
In-service training Certificate or written 5 each
Supervising or mentoring another therapist Written 1 per person
Self Directed Learning may be: Portfolio evidence Points
Reading journal/technical articles and providing written reflection Written 2
Creating a business plan Written Plan 2
Developing a marketing plan Plan, brochures etc. 2
Professional Activity may be: Portfolio evidence Points
Writing an article for publication Copy of article 3
Preparing and delivering a short lecture Lecture notes/plan 3
Preparing a full-day seminar Written evidence 5
Attending a Local Support Group meeting Certificate of Attendance 2
Attending a committee meeting on behalf of a professional group Written 3

New qualification part-time (Under 50 hours teaching contact) Certificate of Attendance 10 per year

CPPD Programs
We offer several CPPD Programs (online and in person). Upon enrollment, you will receive access to our Virtual Learning Resource where you can commence your study of the Theory Elements. Practical elements are covered at our centre and dates for attendance will be arranged with your tutor after enrollment or you can choose prearranged dates subject to availability.
