The VTCT Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty Therapy and Nail Services is a knowledge-based qualification aimed at beauty therapists and nail technicians, who need to understand the COVID-19 infection prevention methods required in order to maintain high levels of health and safety in the provision of their services to clients.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop knowledge on the importance of social responsibility, the causes, transmission and effects of COVID-19, and the methods used to control transmission, such as correct hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). They will also gain an understanding of the safe working practices required in the treatment environment in order to protect themselves and their clients.
The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners to progress to further qualifications within their chosen discipline with an understanding of the role of infection prevention in relation to COVID-19. It also provides learners with personal growth and engagement, as the infection prevention techniques covered, such as hand hygiene, are applicable to everyday life.
This is a regulated qualification, approved by OFQUAL with the theory delivered online in your own home, in your own time and at your own pace via self study using our Virtual Learning Environment. The theory element is perfectly suited to online delivery therefore they can be delivered online. You will be fully supported by your course tutor who’s role it is to help and guide you through the process from beginning to end. Both your tutor and assessor will ensure that you not only reach your goals but maintain industry and awarding body standards.
This qualification is assessed by a multiple choice exam paper which will be invigilated at our centre.
This qualification is qualification is informed by national and international guidelines in relation to COVID-19. Developed with public health experts, it builds upon the UK Government’s generic public health guidelines, offering bespoke content specific to treatments within the Complementary Therapy sector. This qualification ensures learners are equipped with the most current and essential knowledge required to safely and effectively perform treatments and services on clients.
There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification, however, it is now a pre-requisite to all VTCT complementary therapies and sports massage courses. You must attend our centre for the multiple choice exam paper and work through the Theory Elements online.
This qualification can be completed in a minimum of 4 weeks. VTCT completion criteria allows a maximum of 2 years from registration.
The course fees for this qualification are £95 which includes life time access to course materials, VTCT registration and exam fees.
This qualification is assessed by a one multiple choice exam paper which will be invigilated at our centre. The pass mark for the paper is 70%.
